About Us

Area 10 Agency on Aging is a private, nonprofit organization serving Monroe and Owen Counties. Established in 1981, we are one of sixteen Agencies on Aging in the state of Indiana. Our mission is to serve as a leader in providing resources, solutions and connections for seniors, persons with disabilities and family caregivers living in Monroe and Owen counties.

Annually, Area 10 provides case management to more than 500 clients, delivers more than 67,000 nutritious meals to homes and neighborhood meal sites, answers more than 6,500 calls from those seeking health and human services, matches 450 adults with meaningful volunteer opportunities, provides 200,000 rides through Rural Transit bus service, and houses 100 seniors in three affordable apartment complexes.

Board Meeting Minutes

Area 10 Agency on Aging DBA Rural Transit hereby gives public notice of its policy to uphold and assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and all related statutes. Title VI and related statutes prohibiting discrimination in federally assisted programs require that no person in the United States of America shall on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal assistance.

Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discretionary practice regarding Area 10 or Rural Transit programs has the right to file a formal complaint. Any such complaint must be submitted to the Title VI Coordinator within sixty (60) days following the date of the alleged occurrence. To submit a complaint, please click here.
