Mobilizing Owen County, a coalition advocating for older adults and people with disabilities, is proud to present a Health Fair at the Owen County Fairgrounds 4H Building on Thursday, October 11th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The goal of the Mobilizing Owen County Health Fair is to provide access to free health screenings, information and resources for Owen County residents which will help them to lead a healthy and fulfilling life through addressing mental, physical, social and spiritual well-being.

In addition to information and screenings, question and answer sessions and activities will be offered throughout the day on a variety of topics.

The Owen County Rural Transit service provides low cost transportation to medical appointments, school, work, and shopping. “Over the past year, we have worked hard to inform Owen County officials and residents on the role that Rural Transit plays in supporting the lives of all Owen County residents. Coordinating this Health Fair highlights the importance of support Rural Transit and also our agency’s mission to support healthy aging,” said Chris Myers, CEO of Area 10 Agency on Aging.

Door prizes will be given away and a low cost healthy lunch will be provided. Free shuttle services to and from the health fair will be provided within Owen County by Rural Transit. To reserve a ride, call Tricia Goss at (812) 829-6066.
